THE PROMISE: WE ARE INSTRUCTED NOT ONLY TO BELIEVE, BUT ALSO TO ACT ON OUR BELIEF

"But be doers of the word and not hearers only." James 1:22 HCSB

The Bible teaches us that it is not enough to merely hear God’s instructions, nor is it enough to talk about them. We must act upon them. I have said this a few times and I will say it again…you can’t talk your way into change. You have to behave your way into the change you want. When you behave that way long enough, it becomes part of your identity.

If we are to be responsible believers, we must realize that it is never enough to read the instructions of God; we must also live by them. And it is never enough to wait on the sidelines watching others do God’s work.

We are traffic cops ladies! We aren’t pedestrians in His Word! Doing God’s work is a responsibility that each of us must bear, and when we do, our loving heavenly Father rewards our efforts with an abundant life.

So, if you would like to jumpstart your life, your relationships, your purpose, ask God to give you the strength and the wisdom to do first things first, even if it is hard. And while you’re at it, use this formula for success. Talk less and do more. Why? Because actions indeed speak louder than words. And a thousand good intentions don’t equal the positive impact of a single good deed.

“Just stop thinking, worrying, looking over your shoulder, wondering, doubting, fearing, hurting, hoping for some easy way out, struggling, grasping, confusing, itching, scratching, mumbling, bumbling, grumbling, humbling, stumbling, numbling, rambling, gambling, tumbling, scumbling, scrambling, hitching, hatching, moaning, groaning, honing, hair-splitting, nit-picking, fingerpointing, long waiting, small stepping, evil-eyeing, back-scratching, back-stabbing, searching, perching, besmirching, grinding, grinding, grinding away at yourself. Stop it and just DO!” - Benedict Cumberbatch

Our Prayer: Dear Lord, I have heard Your Word, and I have felt Your presence in my hearts; let me act accordingly. Let my words and deeds serve as a testimony to the changes You have made in my life. Let me praise You, Father, by following in the footsteps of Your Son, and let others see Him through me. Amen.
