Once You Have It, Share IT! The Best News Ever!

"You heard that I said to you, ‘I go away, and I will come to you.’ If you loved Me, you would have REJOICED because I go to the Father, for the Father is greater than I." John 14:28

As Jesus tried to inform His disciples that He was "going away," he ended up scolding them. They were not listening. They were "self-focused" and only concerned about their own perspective and their own outcome, and not that of Jesus or "others." Jesus was coaching His disciples to rejoice over the good news! Unfortunately, they were too concerned about themselves to understand what Jesus was saying and, what He was about to do.

Jesus was about to change the world and the universe and the future for everyone, FOR THE BETTER... Jesus was just about to radically improve things for everyone who ever lived or would live, and the disciples only cared about their own sense of loss. Jesus was about to become the PROPITIATION for the world, THE BEST NEWS EVER, and yet, Jesus' disciples were anxious, scared, and only concerned about themselves. What about you?

The word propitiation is a word that represents God’s unlimited grace, mercy, and ultimately His love for us. It’s a radical word because it represents a radical act of love.

1 John 4:10 - "In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins."

As a matter of fact, this word propitiation represents one of the most radical acts of all time. This act of propitiation will NEVER be topped, beaten, or overshadowed by any other act - EVER - it is literally impossible to improve upon “propitiation.”

Hebrews 2:17 - "Therefore, He had to be made like His brethren in all things, so that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people."

The word propitiation means “to be merciful and to make reconciliation.” In the Bible, the word propitiation ALSO refers to the “Mercy seat of God,” which is Jesus Christ the Son of God. Meaning, by the mercies of God through Christ we have been made the righteousness of God in Christ.

2 Corinthians 5:21 - "He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him."

Read the Scripture above again. Did you catch it? We are the righteousness of God? We have peace with God, which means "right standing," or made perfect. Yes, we are made whole by the blood of the Lamb, at least for those who BELIEVE!

Exodus 26:34 - “You shall put the mercy seat on the ark of the testimony in the holy of holies.”

In Strong’s Concordance, the word propitiation refers to an appeasing or expiating, having to placate or an expiating force, expiatory; a means of appeasing or expiating.

1 John 2:2 - and He Himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world."

Moreover, propitiation points to "the lid or cover of the ark of the covenant," the Mercy Seat signifying the “Propitiatory,” or the sacrificial Lamb on the great Day of Atonement.

Hebrews 10:8, 12 - "After saying above, “Sacrifices and offerings and whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin You have not desired, nor have You taken pleasure in them” (which are offered according to the Law)...but He, having offered one sacrifice for sins for all time, sat down at the right hand of God,"

Basically, Jesus is and was and will always be our propitiatory sacrifice, our full and complete atonement. Meaning, he covered our debt (our sin). He’s clearly the only qualified candidate to take our place. But it does not stop there.

Hebrews 7:27 - "who does not need daily, like those high priests, to offer up sacrifices, first for His own sins and then for the sins of the people, because this He did once for all when He offered up Himself."

Jesus, as the sacrificial Lamb of God, took on the sin of the world (all of the sin of the world, ALL!) so that our debt would be covered and paid in full. And, as Jesus took our sin He also gave us His righteousness, his peace (Righteousness of God in Christ), and JOY!

Colossians 2:14 - "having canceled out the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us, which was hostile to us; and He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross."

The first Adam caused the entire human race to fall from Grace. The second Adam, Jesus, restored Grace and redeemed us from the curse of the law - all in one swoop.

1 Corinthians 15:45 - "So also it is written, “The first man, Adam, became a living soul.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit."

We have a new position, we have LIFE and because of the Blood of the Lamb, we fight from a position of VICTORY. We've been saved by the blood of Jesus Christ, our High Priest. We are the now righteousness of God in Christ, seated at the right hand of Christ, sitting on the Mercy Seat - FOREVER!

1 John 4:7-11 - "Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love. By this, the love of God was manifested in us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another."

This is obviously GOOD NEWS! We are totally and completely SAVED, not of our self, but a FREE GIFT OF GRACE! Therefore, filled with everlasting JOY we are compelled to LOVE like Christ, out of gratefulness and peace. Because He loved us, we have complete and total salvation, despite ourselves and apart from our performance. My salvation came about because of His righteousness and His obedience, and NOTHING FROM ME! That's why I love others!

1 John 4:10 - "In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins."

God loved me so thoroughly, He saved me by His grace and through His Mercy and NONE of it from myself. My debts and transgressions and sins were paid for, covered, and therefore I AM GRATEFUL. Therefore, I can easily dwell and bask and testify to God's everlasting love, and in doing so I am able to demonstrate God's radical love for me and become His living testimony.

Romans 3:25 - "whom God displayed publicly as a propitiation in His blood through faith. This was to demonstrate His righteousness because in the forbearance of God He passed over the sins previously committed;"

Jesus, as the Grace of God, provided everything - literally EVERYTHING. Jesus, the Word of God has been our propitiation since before the foundation of the world. Meaning, God had His plan to redeem us before He created us. Jesus is the only answer and has been since before the foundation of the world. We, the believers are a part of this plan. God has given us His love so that we can love others with REAL LOVE.

1 Peter 4:10 - "As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of the manifold grace of God."

The manifold grace of God... God's way is to love first, love unconditionally, and then to demonstrate ALL his love while providing all the love we would ever need. THE BEST NEWS EVER!
